2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro: Specs, Equipment, Price

2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro builds on brand’s strong reputation of dependable and durable trucks with an exceptional off-road capability. Toyota returned this hardcore, off-road oriented trim for the 2017 model year while the Tacoma last refresh came for the 2016 model. The 2018 version of this mid-size model won’t change much but like the refreshed Tundra this model will benefit from the standard Toyota’s Safety Sense P-suite of active safety systems. On the other hand, the mechanics and styling of this version won’t also change much.

2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro: Hardcore off-road hardware

The off-road magic that 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro will be capable of providing will be possible thanks to a serious off-road hardware this model will rely on. Under the rugged skin, this model will have special suspension setup which starts with the specific TRD coil springs which lift model’s front for an inch. The rear will be underpinned with the progressive-rate leaf springs for better bump absorption and articulation. However, the story about the suspension doesn’t end there as this version also uses a 2.5-inch Fox shocks with the internal bypass technology.

The list of the off-road hardware continues with the part-time all-wheel drive system combined with the limited-slip center differential in the transfer case. The model also includes electronically controlled rear diff, a standard towing package, power steering and engine oil coolers.

The engine powering this model is the familiar 3.5-liter V-6. 278 ponies are combined with the torque of 265 pound-feet. The engine comes in the combination either with the six-speed manual or automatic transmission. An automatic adds also hill-start assist, crawl control and Multi-Terrain Select system with five modes.

2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro: Styling
