This model, in its newest version 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD, has got some serious upgrades which made it better and more competitive with best-selling Ford Super-Duty Series.

2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD: Design
When it comes to the design and exterior look, the new 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is not a surprise. The model is featured with Chevy’s familiar design approach. This heavy-duty hauler has a strong and tough appearance which is in accordance with its real capabilities. It features horizontal-oriented front fascia which comes with split-grille design and massive front bumper. Familiar squared-off fenders are also the part of Chevy’s trucks identity as well as sculpted hood. However, this time around, a new detail can be seen of Duramax diesel-powered models and that is a functional air intake on the hood.
Inside the cabin, the big Silverado features solid build quality and functionally arranged controls. It also offers a high level of comfort and modern tech. Its seats are comfortable and supportive and can be equipped additional features.

The latest Silverado 3500HD comes in four trims WT, LT, LTZ and High Country. Options also include regular cab, double cab and crew cab body styles. All cab options can have either single or dual rear wheel setup. An 8-foot bed is standard on the regular and double cabs while the shorter 6.5-foot bed is also available on the crew cabs.
The base WT version comes on the 18-inch steel wheels or 17-inch wheel in the dual rear wheel configuration. It also includes vinyl upholstery, air-conditioning, a driver information display, a 4.2-inch center display, four speakers, etc.
As an option, this model adds a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone compatibility, voice controls, satellite radio, 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, six-speakers, etc.
The LT version adds bigger 8-inch center screen, cloth upholstery, full power accessories, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, etc.

2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD: Powertrains
The heavy-duty 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD comes with two V-8 engines. The base 6.0-liter Vortec V-8 can produce 360 hp and torque of 380 lb-ft. It reaches peak horsepower at 5400 rpm and maxes torque at 4200 rpm. This engine works in tandem with a six-speed automatic transmission. Both rear- and all-wheel drive are available as well as single- and dual rear wheel setup.
Equipped with this engine, the Silverado 3500HD allows a maximum payload of 7, 153 lbs and towing of 14, 600 lbs.
The option is a new 6.6-liter V-8 Duramax turbo-diesel which comes with the new air intake system which supplies it with fresh and dry air for maximum performance. It can produce 445 horsepower and peak torque of 910 lb-ft. This engine is in pair with stouter Alison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission.
With this engine, the Silverado 3500HD can tow up to 23, 300 lbs and it is achievable in regular cab dually version.
