The global demand for pickup trucks has been rising in last decade and truck loyalists have many options from different brands to choose from. Nissan is well-known name this industry and it has been delivering mid-size truck versions since 1985 with different versions that cover many markets across the globe. The Navara is version that is being sold outside the US while the US-spec version is known as the Nissan Frontier. Nissan redesigned the Navara for the 2015 model year when it entered in its third generation.
Now, the expectations are turned toward the new 2017 Nissan Navara which is expected to be revealed soon. There are no official announcements regarding this model but some reports claim that it will come with minor changes. Considering that it comes only two years after it redesign it has been expected that it won’t undergo radical cuts but some improvements are possible. In this period before the mid-cycle update which is expected for the 2018 model it will probably go with updated tech features and some exterior and interior tweaks.
2017 Nissan Navara: Exterior, Interior
As far as its looks is concerned, the 2017 Nissan Navara won’t be large departure from the design that adorns the current version. The styling isn’t in top priorities of these working machines but still Navara is attractive and good-looking workhorse. The front side styling will exploit the current corporate design language with V-motion grille which will be bracketed with slightly restyled headlights. The front bumper looks massive and it is sculpted with center intake and large slots for fog lights are situated on each its side. Hood is designed with pair of big creases on its sides and profile side includes flared fenders and sculpted indention is positioned above side sills. The boot will get slightly modified tailgate and refreshed headlights.
Interior of this model will get familiar Nissan’s treatment with clean design and functional arrangements. Shield shaped center stack accentuated with metallic inserts will house large center screen and easy to use HVAC controls. The seats will be supportive and available with power adjustable and heating functions. Higher spec versions will include leather upholstery, automatic climate control, upgraded infotainment system with larger screen, premium sound system, more driver aids and so on. The model will again be available in two body styles including King cab and Double cab version. Nissan is also expected to use the same strategy when it is about available trims and some advanced safety systems are expected to be added into Navara’s account.
2017 Nissan Navara: Powertrains
When it comes to engines, the Nissan hasn’t said anything about potential changes. However, the new 2017 Nissan Navara is expected to upgrade on the current engine versions. It is now equipped with pair of four-cylinder engines powered with both gasoline and diesel. A gasoline version in the current model can produce around 160 hp while turbocharged diesel can be had in two variants including 160 hp and 187 hp. The model will be available in both two- or four-wheel drive and there will likely be six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions. We will see how Nissan will improve on these engines and how it will influence fuel economy and towing ratings.
2017 Nissan Navara: Arrival, Price
The new 2017 Nissan Navara is expected to come in the first half of 2017 and base models should cost around $20, 000. However, for more reliable information we will have to wait for official announcement.
