As per some car industry speculations, the 2018 Lincoln Mark LT might be the new version of this luxury pickup truck which was discontinued in the US after the 2008 model year. This F-150 based truck version of Ford’s luxury division debuted for the 2006 model year but Ford offered the luxury-oriented Platinum trim for its best-selling F-150 as the replacement for the Lincoln Mark LT.
However, Lincoln truck was more successful in the Mexico where this model was offered as the second-generation version for the 2010 model year and based on the twelve-generation F-150 Platinum. The Mark LT was available in Mexico until the 2015 model year but was discontinued after the introduction of the 2015 F Series. Based on the latest reports Lincoln might again try with the new Mark LT but nothing has been said from the company.
2018 Lincoln Mark LT: Design
Based on the latest reports, Lincoln won’t change the previous strategy and the new 2018 Lincoln Mark LT should be based on the platform which underpins the newest F-150. Nothing has been said about model’s dimensions and would it use aluminum body panels but it should share very similar proportions as the newest F-150.
On the other hand, from the visual perspective, the Mark LT should get Lincoln’s new design language cues. The new corporate grille will be flanked by the pair of new slimmer headlights with daytime running lights. The exterior design should again use plenty of chromed elements while model should ride on the stylish 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the new Mark LT should again get a high luxury treatment. A lot of the leather combined with the rear wood and chrome accents should come with wide and comfortable seats. The model is also expected with the new Sync3 interface and modern instrument cluster.
Features like the power and heated front seats, power pedals, driver memory setting, a sunroof, premium sound system, chrome running boards and more should again be the part of the deal. The model should also offer options like the larger wheels, limited-slip differential but should also get most of the safety systems available in the new F-150.
2018 Lincoln Mark LT: Powertrain
As for the power option of the new 2018 Lincoln Mark LT, it has again been expected that this model would use some engine option of the F-150. The last version of this truck was powered by the 5.4-liter Triton V-8 engine from the F-150. This engine delivered 300 hp and torque of 365 pound-feet.
The new model might use Ford’s revised 2.7-liter EcoBoost or also upgraded 5.0-liter V-8. The 3.5-liter turbocharged engine might also be the solution but the diesel options are not expected in any combination.
On the other hand, the new truck should get the new automatic transmission. It could be Ford’s 10-speed unit and both front- and all-wheel drive should also be available.
As per industry speculations, the 2018 Lincoln Mark LT could debut by the end of this year. The sales should start shortly after its premiere.
