2019 Ford Ranger – The Big Comeback to The US Market
The first place on this cover takes the 2019 Ford Ranger which returns to the US market after the discontinuation in 2012. Ford hasn’t stopped to offer this model in the markets overseas and unsurprisingly the US version is expected to borrow a lot from the global Ranger truck. A recently caught prototype of the next-generation Ranger confirms this model will be an extensively updated version of the global model.
The new Ranger will be based on the body-on-frame architecture known as the T6 which underpins the current global version and Everest SUV. The same platform should make the foundation of Ford’s new SUV which should revive the Bronco nameplate.
Visually, the US Ranger is also expected to share very similar proportions and styling as the global model. On the other hand, it’s not clear yet what powertrain will Ford choose for the US market. The global version uses a 2.2-liter inline-4 and 3.2-liter inline-5 diesel. However, the US version will surely offer gasoline options probably 2.3-liter inline-4 and 2.7-liter V-6 EcoBoost units.
What Ranger’s fans will also welcome is the high-performance Ranger Raptor version. It could use a detuned version of the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6.
The debut of new Ford Ra Ranger is expected in early 2018. The price range should start from around $25, 000.
