2019 Nissan Frontier is redesigned and comes with the diesel powertrain
Another model that has long been awaited to get the full redesign is the mid-size Frontier. This mid-size pickup truck entered to the current generation in 2005 and since it competes with much newer rivals the redesign is essential. Fortunately, Nissan confirmed that this model will see new generation version and production will stay in Mississippi. However, Nissan hasn’t revealed much about the future version as well as about the release date.
According to some sources, the model could arrive late in 2018 and in the similar price range. The new-gen version is expected to share the bones and similar styling as recently redesigned Navara global model. The interior should get upgraded materials and tech. On the other hand, it not clear would Nissan go with upgraded 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 4.0-liter V-6 engines from the current version or would introduce new units. The diesel option is also possible. The global Navara model uses an advanced twin-turbo diesel engine.
