2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn: Design
The new generation Ram 1500 arrived last year with radical structural and visual impartments. Thanks to the new lightweight chassis and redesigned body, the half-ton Ram is more capable and confident while towing delivering better drive quality as well. The styling improvements are also appealing to the eye and provide better aerodynamics.
As for the 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn, the model comes with unique styling treatment inside and out. This version uses chrome finish on the grille, bumpers, mirrors caps, door handles and comes with chrome running boards. The model gets also unique 20-inch aluminum wheels as standard while can be had with larger 22-inch aluminum wheels. Buyers can also pick two-tone exterior treatment.
The Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn comes in the crew cab body style only while buyers can choose between 5’7” and 6’4” cargo box.
The Laramie Longhorn version comes also with a high-quality and well-equipped cabin.
The comfortable premium leather seats with filigree will also provide a long ride comfort. The front row is power-adjustable, heated and ventilated while the rear row gets heating function by default.
The standard on this version is also an 8.4-inch touchscreen-based Uconnect infotainment system. Buyers can opt for the class-largest 12.0-inch touchscreen interface with navigation for an additional $1,395.
Further upgrading is possible with available package options. The Advanced Safety group package will add adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, full-speed forward collision warning, park assist and surround-view cameras. Another package adds features such as 19-speakers Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated rear seats, wireless charging, blind-spot and cross-path detection.
2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn: Powertrains
The 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn is also available with various powertrain solutions.
As standard, the model comes equipped with the 3.6-liter V-6 engine with the eTorque system. The engine uses advanced variable valve timing and variable valve lift for better power and efficiency. It delivers 305 hp and torque of 269 pound-feet.
The next level of power and torque is available from the optional 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with the eTroque system. The engine uses also advanced efficiency technologies and delivers 395 hp and torque of 410 pound-feet. The eTorque system provides an additional 130 pound-feet of launch torque.
The new-generation 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 returns for the 2020 model year and it is also in the optional equipment list of the Laramie Longhorn version. The engine archives 260 hp and class-leading 480 pound-feet of torque. The newest version of the engine received an upgraded turbo and reworked intake ports and fuel injectors.
No matter what engine is applicated, it comes with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission. The model is available with both two- and four-wheel drive.
AS for the fuel economy, the base powertrain should achieve up to 20 mpg city and 26 mpg on the highways. The mighty V-8 engine combined with the eTorque system will manage up to 17 mpg city and 23 highways. The diesel-powered Ram 1500 will perform better with up to 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highways.
2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn: Release, Price
The 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn is already available from $50, 890. The new-gen EcoDiesel is a pricey option for an additional $4,995. Most buyers will demand a V-8 engine which costs $1,995 over the base V-6 unit.
