The latest iteration of the popular, light-duty, half-ton Ram 1500 debuted at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show and the fifth-generation of this truck is the radical step forward compared to the previous generation. Ram redesign the truck from the ground up including the new underpinning, upgraded powertrains and more comfort and tech. While the new version discontinued the signature crosshair grille style Ram hasn’t quieted the tried and tested coil-spring rear suspension and the truck remains the most comfortable model in the class. The redesigned truck is also available in a number of options ranging from the work-oriented to high luxury versions and multiple powertrain options are also on the offer.
However, for the buyers who put the focus on the interior comfort, the full-size, four-door cab style increases the rear seat leg room to the maximum and comes with two bed options. Ram offers the new generation light-duty truck, in its first model year after the redesign, in seven trims in contrast to the previous generation available in 11 trim versions. The 2020 Ram 1500 Mega Cab will return with the same styling, interior and familiar engine options. The diesel unit could join the lineup and new trim options could also appear.
